Ingleborough Cave Shop

Ingleborough Cave is the finest show cave in the country, at the top of a nature trail in the Yorkshire Dales. The existing shop had not been renovated for several decades and so this was a big transformation on a small site. Set in spectacular surroundings the shop was given a new glass extension, was gutted and completely reconfigured. Joinery being the key to the scheme Form Interior designed a counter with built in display for the gems and stones, retail display cabinets designed for their specific tiny items for sale, as well as product wall display, storage and housing for the ice cream freezer. Helmets are required to enter the cave so a shelving feature was designed with a photographic backdrop and caving rope to give a feeling of what might be ahead. Lighting with an industrial feel and storage hidden behind graphic panels make use of the height of the space, and cafe seating in the new glass extension draws the customer through to look at the view.
